[[underlined]] April 29, 1932. [[/underlined]] Up at 600 AM. Stiff & sore from the long ride. Had vest fixed & spent day at office getting data from Garlough. Left on 5.25 plane for Portland.
[[underlined]] April 30, 1932. [[/underlined]] Arrived at Portland 700 AM after magnificent view of Wallowa & Cascades in early morning light. Made Portland early & hiked home for breakfast & to bed. Did some business over telephone.
[[underlined]] May 1, 1932. [[/underlined]] To nursery checked over new place & back home to rest some more.
[[underlined]] May 2, 1932. [[/underlined]] In office. Many details to attend too. Talked with Jewett about car - traveling with assistants etc. Also about shutting down on poison work and distracting state. Decided to put Branson at Roseburg, Saukey at Redmond and Dobbyns at Pendleton.
[[underlined]] May 3, 1932. [[/underlined]] Worked on Desk matters entire day. Conferred with Leo Couch & worked out Gubrers assignment
[[underlined]] May 4, 1932. [[/underlined]] Spent day with Joe Dun. Took him out to Bill Fenley's & up highway also. Took him to dinner in evening. Fine visit.
[[underlined]] May 5, 1932. [[/underlined]] Worked with Branson on his manuscript on Dan's Lake. More office work arranged a fur sale for May 17th at Seattle.
[[underlined]] May 6, 1932. [[/underlined]] In office & thence out home to work on lawn a while in evening. Took a few pictures.
[[underlined]] May 7, 1932. [[/underlined]] To the Lake to talk to community club etc on Birds work f survey. Worked our place a little while
