[[underlined]] Feb 4, 1933 [[/underlined]] Call at Bob Fowlers office & visit him with Branson attempting to get him on friendly terms with Bob also saw L.P. Wilcox and Mr Rankin supervisor Rogue River N.F. visit [[gameway?]] & Bayers in PM & Hechner in evening.
[[underlined]] Feb 5 [[/underlined]] 1933
Saw Hechner for a few minutes & then south. Snow deeper in Seakujous than I've ever seen & worse at Shasta City & Dunsmuir. All out of snow at Redding. Between Redding & Red Bluff found a little wooded area filled with Robins & Band tailed Pigeons and about 12 Silver Gray Squirrels all feeding on acorns & manzanita berries. see Hansen & Neff in evening. Neff had 6 [[underlined]] Cal Linnets & 6 Goldfinches [[/underlined]] which I skinned as we visited
Feb 6, 1933. With Neff out over rice area  Saw thousands of [[underlined]] Swan & Geese. Whistling Swan [[/underlined]] were a snowy bank in a big rice field and air above was alive with birds- swans & geese. Of the latter [[underlined]]Lesser Swans & Cacklers [[/underlined]] were most abundant but also saw one little bunch of [[underlined]] Ross Geese [[/underlined]] and numerous flocks of [[underlined]] White Fronts & Canadas. [[/underlined]] Few ducks. [[underlined]] Mud hens [[/underlined]] scarce & blackbirds also few but [[underlined]] California Red wing [[/underlined]] [[illegible strikethrough?]] have taken their stations in little swamps all over valley over
