Atwood, wife of a lawyer & a state senator rammed us most grievously. Wrecked one fender for us & fixed her firm bumper. Luckly no one was hurt but we lost a couple of hours failing to make Douglas which had been our objective. Stopped instead at Paradise with Chucking lodge arriving at 730 PM

Left the lodge at daylight & saw numerous [[underline]] Jays [[/underline]] (Arizona & Woodhouse) [[underline]] Bridled Titmouse, Lincoln Sparrow [[/underline]]. Met E.E. Leo of Cougar dog fame and his younger brother Dolph. [[Both?]] fine looking men. On Leaving here we cut straight over the mountains and saw my first [[underline]] painted redstarts, Red backed Juncos, Montezuma Horned Lark[[/underlined]] and latter on [[underlined]]Canon Towhee & Vermillion Fly catcher [[/underline]]  in the Huachucas. Birds scarce at this time of day. On into Nogales where I had to go & eat with Don on the Mexican Line and it was nearly eleven when I started on 14 birds quit at 130 AM & retired.

   Rose early & finished skinning birds. Left Nogales at 1100 AM and arrived at Phoenix at 730 pm. Stopped enroute & collected eight birds - 4 [[underline]]Thrasher - 2 Sparrow hawks - 2 quail - 1 woodpecker & 1 Brewers Sparrow.[[/underline]] Saw a [[underline]] Mexican Black Hawk [[/underline]] that I failed to secure. Skinned [[underline]]two quail.[[/underline]]
