Finished birds & went to office & finished mail. Packed things at Gilchrists & prepared to start on in AM.
April 2, 1933
Left Gilchrists' at 730 AM and arrived at Wilmington Cal. at 830 PM. Stopped at Fontana and got acquainied with Meyer & Dr. Mickinney ate oranges & drank wine & then to Alexandria Hotel to get mail and on to Don Hotel.
April 3, 1933
Left at 900 AM thru L.A. to see the country estates about Pasadena & Hollywood where Coyotes are frightening children eating avocados etc. Returned and went to see Sam Blyons at Terminal Island  no chance for a trip now.
April 4, 1933
To Wilmington at 730 AM and travel all 600 PM to reach Brawley Cal. From Wilmington to Corona we traveled three mules of Orange Groves and then thru a rugged brush covered country to Julian which is on the summit of the Main range. A beautiful dark blue Ceanothus was very dominant in the landscape just now It was foggy & rainy & birds were few.
