Aug 30 - 1933
In office.  To bank to arrange business for Oregon Gardens and saw Mr Tomlison from Oakland office of Montgomery ward & Co.  Williams in and go over affairs with him.  Call Couch & discuss affairs over phone.

Aug 31, 1933
   Left home at 630 AM to Spokane Wash & see S. Benson - Tom Hay etc and on to Bonners Ferry Idaho 1030 PM.  Clara with me.  Both tired after 501 miles mostly desert as long as we could see. 

Sept 1, 1933
   Left Bonners Ferry at 700 AM. and arrived Marble Canyon.  Kootenai Park at 600 P.M.
  Saw numerous [[underlined]] Pintails [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Mallards [[/underlined]] in the little ponds & shallow lakes.  Scenery beautiful all the way today.  Mixed coniferous forests of larch - white pine & then great stretches of lodgepole.  Above that fine groves of spruce & fir.  Aspen thickets all along the way.  Saw lots of dogbane [[underlined]] Sedum, Spiraea douglasi - Daspline fruticosa [[/underlined]] latter in bloom.
   Found lots of leaves of [[underlined]] anemone patens [[/underlined]] one in bloom.  Campanula rotundifolia in bloom.  Asters in abundance.  Gaillardia arestata in abundance in bloom in Kootenai valley, all others also.  In Kootenai Park saw lots of [[underlined]] Saxifrage bronchialis [[/underlined]] not in bloom. 
   [[underlined]] Olive sided fly catcher [[/underlined]] & Williamson Sapsucker along road in B.C.
