At home. No special celebration & catalogued a few birds skinned two varied thrushes & rested.

Jan 2, 1934.  In office all day working on birds of Oregon etc.  Also office work & some long distance phoning

Jan 4, 1934  Received word that Biological survey has been practically abolished in new budget so we get busy.

Jan 5, 1934.  Same as above etc

Jan 6, 1934
  In office in morning & then leave for Olympia at 9:00 am.  stopped to see John & then on to Olympia where I saw Couch & Miss Williams & then with Leo on to Seattle.  Attend meeting of Pacific N.W. Birds & Mammal club at University.  Fine visit with a lot of people.

Jan 7, 1934. Left Seattle at 1000 AM in dense fog and arrived at Tacoma at noon.  Had a fine visit with Bowles & Kitchen at latters home & fine dinner.  Warbarten came later & we left for Olympia at 400 PM.  Wrote in evening.

Jan 8, 1934
   In office in AM conferring with Couch & Miss Williams and also waiting for Sheffer.  Left with him for Portland about 200 PM after a nice lunch with Leo & his wife. arriving at Portland 700 PM
