Feb 19 1934.
  Lv Portland 8:00 AM and arrive at Newport 2:00 PM.  Check birds on bay [[insert]] Found no Brant [[/insert]] & talk to natives return to collage at 8:00 PM  Braleys with us.  New fan belt.
Feb 11, 1934
  To Depoe Bay & out on ocean for a while.  Found no birds to speak of.  Even Col. Murres absent.
  Saw a few cormorants = gulls & marbled murrelets  [[strikethrough]]and[[/strikethrough]] 1 Loon, a western grebe & a few scoters.
  Returned to cottage.
Feb 12, 1934.
  At Lake all AM. and hiked over hills back of Lake.  Found blue jay.  Fox sparrow etc & one farmer named Thompson who complained bitterly about the Evening Grosbeaks eating his cherries.  Described them accurately & [[strikethrough]] said [[/strikethrough]] they had only bothered.  Returned home 8:00 P.M.

  In office general office work. Interuppted much by callers and telephones.  Including Eliot-- Ken & others. In evening to Ike Walton meeting at Chester McCarty's office & then to Portland Press Club brawl for a while & home.

In office all morning & worked on the birds of Oregon.  To Salem in evening to help organize a new Ike Walton chapter.  Returned at midnight with Igo & Davidson.

  In office all morning.  Spend day answering mail and caring for office matters.  Lunch with John Ebbenger & wife and then to St Helens.  Dinner at Dr. Daltons & lecture to Garden club on Oregon Birds.
