In office in morning and until 2:00 pm preparing for trip. Out to nursery in evening.

To Champoeg with kids + then at home until train time leaving Portland 9:30 PM via 9N.
Feb 19, 1934
Enroute. Visited with Dr. Fisher president of Bellingham Normal, Mr. Howard Oreg state school Supt and Mr. Laird of Interstate Commerce Comm [[strikethrough]]Feb 20, 193[[/strikethrough]] + looked at scenery which is generally very fine.
Feb 20, 1934 Enroute. Wrote one article etc N. Dakota looked desolated + dreary.
Feb 21, 1934
Arrived in Chicago 8:45 AM. Called up Thorn's Floral Service about bulbs and also visit Osgood at museum. Took train at 2:00 PM via Capital Limited + found C.F. Forster aboard.

Arr. Washington 8:40 AM. Conference with Mr. Young + Crouch, Day, Gelehust + Saythe.

At Washington office all day conferring with Henderson, Redington, Young, Bell, Sheldon + McAtee.
Feb 24, 1934
At office in AM + hotel in afternoon. going with Day to his home for dinner + a dance in the evening.

Rested- wrote letter + cussed the blizzard which made me abandon a trip to Rock Creek Park
