April 20, 1934
     At Sacramento see Poole, Traub, Neff  -- Jacobsen & confer about work & things.  A bad bubonic plague outbreak in Kern & Tulare Counties is worrying everyone.  Squirrels dying by the hundreds & poisin acceptance in surrounding area poor.  Acreage affected may reach a million acres.  At Pooles for dinner and very enjoyable time.

April 21, 1934
     At Sacramento.  See Poole  --  Keyes & Jacobs.
at Keyes for dinner & later to a flower show.

April 22, 1934
  Out with Neff for a while east of Sacramento to hunt birds & then left for San Francisco
arrived at Hotel Whitcomb about 10:30 PM after a visit with the Hornes.  Found Everett down in the dumps in addition to being sick.

April 23, 1934
     Very busy day.  Conferred with Kadderly, Moffett & Farley in AM. Gave radio talk at noon.  Conferred with Tonkin & Moffett in P.M. and with health authorities.  Kudderly in evening to work out Radio program.

April 24, 1934
     Dr. Drusker of Public Health, Mr. Beeson, Jesse Nelson & Chet Wing on various matters Chet well impressed with new chief but thinks he needs a little education along
[[business?]] lines.  Lv. S.F. at 3:00 PM.
