Saw Ruddy ducks, Forsters Terns, Western Grebes, White Pelicans, etc and a trip around the lake & then drove home arriving at 600 PM in a driving rain.  Kids O.K. Clara glad to get back home.

May 1, 1934
In office general office work. reports etc. At home in evening. Made up two cormorants
May 2, 1934
In office general office work. reports etc. general work at home in afternoon to skin two owls & then with Jewett & John Carter to Depoe Bay.
May 3, 1934
Tried to go to sea but squalls & a nasty chop drove us back with only one murelet. 
Visited Newport flats.
Found (1) Hudsonian Curlew 25
      (2) Red backed sandpipers several hundred
      (3) Western [[ditto for sandpipers several hundred]]
      (4) Black Turnstone 1 (Seal rocks)
      (5) Northern Phalarope 1
      (6) Semipalmated Plover 2 
      (7) Sanderling (1) }seal rocks [[for 6 and 7]]
  Went home & made them up. arriving 6 30 PM

   At office & nursery in evening & then finished up my birds.
May 5, 1934
 Men started our garage this AM. & then left for Olympia at 1100 AM and on to Quinault with Leo arriving there to meet Marie at 600 PM.
