  Saw 7 [[underline]] Oyster catchers [[/underline]] on rocks--6 [[underline]] Harlequins 1 Tallen [[/underline]] & lots of [[underline]] Black Turnstones [[/underline]] arrived gold Beach 7 00 PM
Oct. 26, 1934
Lv Gold Beach 8 00 AM and saw many [[underline]] coots [[/underline]] at Big Lagoon & Humboldt Bay. arrive Eureka 2 [[underline]] 00 [[/underline]] PM
 See Poole, Traub, Polain & attend Humbeldt community stock assn meeting.  Meet wing etc.
Oct. 27, 1934
  Lv Eureka at 8 00 AM & travel over the tide flats & lagoons to south.  Lots of duck shooters but few ducks.  Continued to see [[underline]] Phalaropes [[/underline]] both alive & dead. Some of each far inland left flats about noon & traveled south on Redwood highway. Stopped near Laytonville and saw the biggest buck black tail I've ever seen in the wild also two does arrived at Upper Lake at 7 [[underline]] 00 [[/underline]]PM & had dinner. Skinned three birds & went to bed
October 28, 1934
 Left Upper Lake & traveled to Williams.  Lots of [[underline]] Western Grebes,[[/underline]] few [[underline]] coots [[/underline]] & [[underline]] White Pelicans [[/underline]] & numerous [[underline]] Blue Herons [[/underline]] but no ducks.  Still saw a few live [[underline]] Phalaropes [[/underline]] and the last dead one for the day at [[underline]] Arbuckle[[/underline]] in the edge of the Sacto valley.  also 5 [[underline]] burrowing owls 2 of which[[/underline]] were [[underline]] skinable.[[/underline]].  arrived in Sacto at noon saw [[underline]] Piper, Poole[[/underline]] & Jacobsen for conferences.  Skinned [[underline]] owls [[/underline]] & few other birds collected & returned at mignight.
