and is going to be excellent help. I'm pleased with her & with the general attitude of the crowd with one or two exceptions. Tonight to Smorgasbord with the two Miss Broadwaters & had a most delightful evening.

Very busy day clearing up my desk and caring for many little jobs. Tonight to Baileys for dinner. Got Mrs Bailey to autograph my copy of the "Birds of New Mexico, & she & V.B also gave me three of their books autographed. They are much appreciated.
April 3, 1935
To office with Shullinger with [[Sent?]] packet ready to go. Many small jobs including letters for the chief. Then at 3:00 PM driving a Plymouth and accompanied by Gross of F.S. Region 8. I've arrived at Harrisonburg Va. at 6:45 PM. It is a sleepy little town in the Shenandoah valley. I have a delightful room big & airy in an old but comfortable hotel. In evening met ^ [[insert]] J.W.
