June 24, 1935
At Albuquerque. Answered mail. Saw Pooler, [[Gorscich?]] & [[Stoke Ligon?]] for a conference also Judge Botts. Dinner with E.W. Johns-classmate whom I have not seen since we graduated.
June 25, 1935
Left Albuquerque at 600 AM in new Ford V-8. with C.J. Fine Car. Received a wire from Don at Tucumcari saying mistake made in servicing car and telling me to change to heavier oil. Did it.
Saw several female & two male 
[[underline]] Lark [[/underline]] Buntings at Tucumcari & near there.
Saw two [[underline]] Eastern Bluejays [[/underline]] just west of Shamrock Texas. Holed up at Shamrock about 730 by my time. Rained 
June 26, 1935
Left Shamrock 700 AM. Arr Wichita NF at noon.
Saw [[?]] near Cordell and also first scissor tailed flycatchers here.
On Wichita saw following birds

3. Larksparrow C
4. Painted Bunting Sev-my first
5. Red eyed Vireo
6. Warbling [[ditto for Vireo]]
7. Tufted Titmouse C
8. Turkey Buzzard C
9. Towhee 1
10. Black & White Warbler 1 at close range
