Oct 17, 1935
Arrive at Montgomery Ala at 7.20AM.  Met Quinn and with him drove to Auburn where we met Prof Robinson head of the Biology Dept and Dr [[space]] President of Alabama Polytechnic Institute.  Roy Moore joined us later.  Fine crowd of people.  We looked over campus and equipment & I took train from Auburn at 7.59P.M.

All day on train.  Worked some on articles & papers and came thru the Carolinas & Virginia in the daylight - beautiful in the fall colors and arrived at Washington at 7.25PM.
