Nov 12, 1935
Cook called last night to say the story of my new job was in the paper.  Saw it later myself.  Cook came at 6.30 & we had breakfast together.  Then we took Olsen to Logan & met with Rasmussen, President Petersen, Extension director, station director etc for an all morning conference which ended in a luncheon together.  Fine program worked out.  We parted[[?]] over Rasmussen & I going to Experiment Station & forest office with [[strikethrough]] Bode[[strikethrough]] Dunn who knows Bode.  Then to Bear River marshes where I saw Mus[[?]]ch, Lehman etc. & then back to Ogden for dinner with Rasmussen & Dick Routledge at Ben Lomand Hotel.  Left Ogden 7.50 via Union Pacific

Nov 13, 1935
Enroute to Chicago & Washington to start in new job.  Worked some on writing but it is hard to concentrate there are so many angles to speculate over in the new job.  It still seems like a hell of a joke on someone.

Nov 14, 1935
Arrived in Chicago 8.40AM & called Tap Gregory & Steve.  Fine visit with them and and took train at 2.40 for Washington.

Nov 15, 1935
Arrived Washington 8.40AM.  Took taxi home as car broke down & Clara couldn't meet me.  Took bath etc & reported at office at 11.00AM.  Met Chief & cared for mail.  Talked to him
