Dec 7, 1935-Cont. grounds Lots of ducks and geese. Then to reservoir. No birds-back to boat in evening. Dec. 8, 1935 Slept till eight-visited with various people including Homer L. Ferguson President of Newport News Ship building co. Casey Nolan In afternoon went to Ragged Island in Back Bay. Met Jim Barnes and others. Had a bad case of indigestion. Dec. 9, 1935 Out in duck blind. Didn't get a shot Left at 2:00 p.m. Two teal and one wedgeon for eight men total bag. Joined Eola at Minden Point and rode down canal to Coinjock. Met Capt Tate of light house service an interesting old character who was postmaster at Kittyhawk when Wright Bros. made their flight there. Dec 10, 1935 All day on the all alone with assistant to Joe Weaver. (Saunders) tied up at Bellhaven at 3 30 PM. Saw darnedfew birds none on [[Curretuck?]]. Lot of swan on alligator river & few ducks Burch, Chalk etc and Weaver came & I went to New Holland with them. Dec 11, 1935: Shot a while this this morning with Mann and secured two ducks & a goose. Look over refuge and shot an hour inthe evening. I had a fine time. Killed a redhead, mallard, widgeon & pintail & 1 goose.
