To Savannah at 830 AM arr Rockingham at 500 PM. Rained terrifically most of [[was?]] It was the aftermath of a rain which started last night. Visited Chalk & had a good chance to clear up several points.
April 6, 1936
Visited Resettlement administration unit and had a look at it with Chalk. Fine natural game area which could be made a fine game management area.
Left at 1100 AM and arrived Washington 1000 PM still in terrific downpour.
April 7, 1936
In office all day in conferences & did not get a chance to touch the mail. Tired tonight.
April 8, 1936
In office at 700 AM and got mail out before the others came. Saw Tugwell. visited many people in Bureau. Invited sec's office to conference at Denver. Home in evening to make up [[millett?]].
April 9, 1936
Worked all day in office, heard a row between Salyer & Duffenbach. Worked until 500 PM. home for a bit of supper & took train at 630 PM for St Louis

Arr St. Louis 315 met by Willandy & had a haircut which Clara has been joking
