Saw a whole flock of Audubon folks - saw Herb Lampman - newspaper man from Journal, etc. Carters for dinner.
May 30.1936
At nursery again - final arrangments with John - saw Mrs Berry & drove to Corvallis in Dads car.
May 31-1936
Look over [[Einarsens?]] place & plant. see his layouts including demonstration areas & rest. See Ballard, Morse & the Dean.
June 1,1936
The commencement exercises were very beautiful and at the end I with two others became Dr's of Science. Luncheon with Peavy etc and then conference with the Dean, Ballard and Brandt also with Dr Foster Road to Bend with [[Emaras?]] arr at 9.30PM.
June 2,1936.
Left Bend at 600AM arr. Burns 800AM. See new headquarters sites & buildings - to Buena Vista & P Ranch and look over new diversion dam. Lots of water & lots of cover. Ranch in excellent shape and lots of birds.
Saw a pair of [[underlined]] bitterns [[/underlined]] indulging in a display in which the male had the white plumes on the neck conspicuously elevated & spread. Jerrett all worked up over various matters.
