Nov 19, 1937 cont midnight & then to bed. Nov 20, 1937 Up at seven. Breakfast & then turkey hunting. The senators went with a guide up the hollow while Nichols, Brewster & I climbed the hills. The Senators quickly got Turkeys on feeding ground but we saw none until after Nichols separated from us. He got into a bunch and killed five. Brewster & I saw none & killed none. Back to lunch & then on hill to his duck pond where I tried for the first time the stunt of shooting hand raised released mallards. Fairly good test of a mans shooting eyes & some of the senators were p[[?]]. Gauntlet & I only ones to shoot consistently. Came back to town with the Senators & Nichols. Saunders raised around Harcourt & knows all the family. Went to Oregan State dinner with Clara & then caught 2.00AM train to Hamlet N.C. Nov 21, 1937. Chalk met me at Hamlet at 11.00AM & we went to Rockingham to his home for dinner & then to North State Game Club at council arriving about 5.00PM. Met Judge Phillips of State bench at Chalks home & numerous state officials at Council. Nov 22, 1937 Sat on a deer stand all day listening to the dogs run down several does
