Didn't reach Washington until noon & then had a busy afternoon.  Took a lot of papers home & worked some there in evening.

Jan 12, 1938
In office all day.  An exceedingly busy day all on small matters.  Dictated six cylinders of stuff at home in evening.

Jan 13, 1938
Again a busy day.  Had a lunch with [[Dickisen?]] at Cosmos club and a very busy afternoon.  Saw Henry Davis etc together with Buchanan from Remington Arms.  Over to Hadderly's home for awhile in the evening.

Jan 14, 1938.
In office all morning.  Talked to Dr Bell's division at 11.00AM on general program of work & necessity of cooperation.  Went to Bureau lunch and then home & collected Clara & drove to Fredrick.  Spoke over local radio station at 4.15PM and then to Isaac Walton League Banquet.  Over 200 present.  Good & orderly crowd, got acquainted with William E. [[Northam?]] of Solomon's who is new conservation commissioner in Maryland and Hon David J. Lewis, Congressman from Western Maryland.  Tired & went to bed.

Jan 15, 1938
Up at 8.00AM breakfast and on home with Clara.  In office at 11.00 & then went to club for a work out.  Came home at 4.00PM, dinner & loafed all early evening.  Wrote speech for Wildlife conference.
