April 11, 1938
In office all day.  Nothhing startling but a lot of small things.  Came home in evening & found Clara going out to talk at a meeting.  Went to see [[Wick?]], Lou & Travers for a party next Sat. night for Clara.
April 12, 1938
In office all day except a lunch with Kammerer and trip to bank where I arranged to finance Clara a new car.  Had a fine [[?]] trip in it a 1937 Lincoln Zepher & the first car other than a Ford we have ever owned.
April 13, 1938
The house reported the ag bill out without the million dollars and things were immediately hectic around here.  Congressman calling frequently & I referred them all to Willis Robertson.
April 14, 1938
Day went up on the hill to listen to the debate on Ag. bill.  He said we got a funny break on it.  The arguments had all been for putting the million back when the President message asking for a huge appropriation broke.  Afterwards [[Cainions?]] appeals for economy made them smile.
April 15, 1938
In office all day and happy over the thing going on in the House.  If they don't disturb it we are set for the next year.
