April 16, 1938
At home all day.  Worked in garden & at party until evening & then got Francis, Wick & Al for the party.  Including our own crowd we had 36 which did not seem too many.  I had a grand timing I believe others did also.
April 17, 1938
Worked in yard a while and then drove out to Beltsville for a picnic.  Everyone was tired & my picnic dinner didn't agree with me.  Felt miserable all evening.
April 18, 1938
In office general office work.  The quietest day I've ever had in the office.  No one came in to kick and no one from the staff seemed to have any troubles.  C. J. left today.
April 19, 1938
In office busy day but nothing of vital importance.  I've had a busy time on many local problems & bureau matters tho.
April 20, 1938x
Clara's birthday today but we did all our celebrating last week so passed it quietly today.  [[strikethrough]] Had the Baird Club for April 21, 193 [[/strikethrough]] Left for Chicago 8:00 PM

At Izaak Walton League convention.  Spoke at Chicago Conservation Council.  Met dozens of people from various places.  Conference with Chas. [[Gilliam?]] [[Lenny Slade?]] Vern Kirk etc.
