THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON

August 12, 1940

My dear Dr. Schmitt:

It was good of you to write me concerning the progress being made in compiling the scientific papers on the specimens collected on the President's cruise. I shall be glad to call on the President's attention to your letter and I need not assure you that he will be delighted to have the volume of the scientific reports when they are completed.

Your good wishes are very much appreciated.

Very sincerely your,
