[[underlined]] Phaenocarpa [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]], with crumpled wings, 28 joints in left antenna (rt. missing), very short & broad 1st abd. segment, short stout stigma & other curious characters. 
Similar to a mutelated specimen in Hal. Coll. & provisionally named [[underlined]] Ph. halidayi [[/underlined]]. A.W.S 1934.

ARKLOW SPRING TRIP.

14 April 1927. To Arklow!
Stopped for couple of hours at Magherabeg, Co. WI. Some sun, warm, windy.
(First warm day after long cold spell!)
Bombus lucorum, terrestris & lapidarius  (1) [[2 female symbols]] seen.
Andrena albicans [[2 male symbols]], A. gwynana [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] fresh
A. minutula [[2 female symbols]], on Alexanders!
Halictus rubicundus [[2 female symbols]], [[underlined]] H. calceatus [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]].
H. punctatissium 1 [[female symbol]]. Sphecodes divisus [[2 female symbols]]
Salius fuscus 1 [[male symbol]].
All above on sand cliff N. of river with Formica fusca,  Lasius niger, L. flavus. & Myrmica scabrinodis [[2 virgin female symbols]].
In dunes.
[[insertion]] Green veined white & orange tip [[male symbol]] Butterflies! [[line]] [[/insertion]]
