[Spent 3 days with Dr. G Erdtman of Stockholm]
5th July 1927. Caught early train: at Arklow to Dublin & spent afternoon at Ballybetagh, DU & WI.
No hymenoptera.
6th July 1927. Caught mail to Belfast & on to Killough. Spent afternoon at White Bog near Killough, Do. Got a lot of ichneumons on flower heads of Heracleum. [[underlined]] Bombus muscorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] with nest in centre of White Bog!
[[underlined]] [[strikethrough]] Stenichneumon [[/strikethrough]] pectus [[/underlined]] [[insertion]] ? [[underlined]] Mel. sanguinatis [[/insertion]]  [[female symbol]] (?)
[[underlined]] Banchus moniliatus [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]], 1 [[female symbol]], on Angelica, the [[male symbol]] having no spine on scutellum, but max. palps, face, &c, show clearly it is this species, & the [[female symbol]] has the spine very long & typical! AWS. 1928.

7th. Rain all day. Returned to Arklow.]

8th July 1927. A glorious day after misty morning. Vale below Rathdrum station, as before, but only rt. bank of river from station to Avondale. 
Bombus agrorum [[2 virgin female symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]].  [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]]  & [[2 female symbols]] but not so common as last. [[underlined]] B. lapidarius [[/underlined]] 1 fresh [[female symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]] Andrena albicans [[/underlined]] 1 worn [[female symbol]]. [[underlined]] A. fucata [[/underlined]] 1 worn [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] Andrena coitana [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] abundant. [[underlined]] A. gwynana [[/underlined]] 2nd brood, [[male symbol]].
[[underlined]] Nomada hillana [[/underlined]] worn [[female symbol]], [[underlined]] N. ruficornis [[/underlined]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. [[female symbol]] with black thorax! [[underlined]] N. obtusifrons [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] Hylaeus confusus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] on Rubus. 
[[underlned]] Halicti [[/underlined]] as before. [[underlined]] Sphecodes divisus [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]]
[[underlined]] Odynerus sinuatus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]]. O. [[underlined]] 3-fasciatus [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] (?) on Rubus.
[[underlined]] O. pictus [[/underlined]] seen & dead in cells on wall below viaduct with dead [[underlined]] Acroricnus macrobatus [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[strikethrough]] (?) [[/strikethrough]] (? in same cell).
[[underlined]] Crabro capitosus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] [[checkmark]] & [[female symbol]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. on hazel, elm &c near station.

Saw several things that looked like [[underlined]] Salius notatulus [[/underlined]] by river stump below Avondale bridge; where Goat Moth chrysalis were found as if moth had just emerged!
