Transcription Notes:
on lower right of right-hand page I believe the "Ho!" exclamation and the strikethroughs apply to the unreadable writing underneath. Should we include what appear to be erasures in our transcriptions? mburg1123
In that particular case I think the No! refers to the struck out text of Poemenia hectica. If there are strikethroughs I include those. If he has edited with pencil I also transcribe that text but if he has erased something that is in pencil & I can't read it I don't tend to attempt to put it in. But if I'm unsure whether it's just light pencil or an erasure I tend to transcribe. It's really a judgement call depending the circumstances. Sorry I can't be clearer. The symbol that looks like ? has been transcribed in the Stelfox (and other entomology projects) as [[virgin female symbol]]. It's in common use in entomology. Hope this helps. @siobhanleachman
