9th October 1927. A soft warm day with plenty of sun, after a sunny week! (1st run in Talbot car) Devil's Glen (from below), Co. WI.  AWS., AA Lisney & AM Gwynne 
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] faded [[2 virgin female symbols]]. [ [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] ? one reported dying or dead by Lisney]. 
Many sawfly larvae collected in bed of stream on willows & sent to Perkins, who replied that amongst these he could recognise 4 with certainty as follows:-
[[underlined]] Pteronidea miliaris [[underlined]]  [[insertion]] * [[vertical line]] * [[boxed]] From the larvae Perkins bred [[2 female symbols]] only in July 1928 & from those obtained [[parthenoyometic?]] eggs which produced [[2 male symbols]] on 16.6.1929! [[/boxed]] [[/insertion]] 4 to 6 examples.
" [[Ditto for: Pteronidae]] [[underlined]] melanaspis [[/underlined]] 6 to 8 " [[Ditto for: examples]] 
" [[Ditto for: Pteronidae]] [[underlined]] pavida [[/underlined]], a few. {RCLP bred a [[male symbol]] Typhonid parasite ! 
" [[Ditto for: Pteronidae]] [[underlined]] ferruginea [[/underlined]], a large number: old ones with orange spots young nearly black.

16th October 1927. A dull mild day, with shower in morning.
The Derries, between Ballybrittas & Gt. Heath, Q. Co. AWS. AAL. & AM Gwynne.
Large Ophionid [[line]] flying round birch or willow where nearly fully grown larvae of Bufftip moth were seen.
[[underlined]] Ichneumon lugens [[/underlined]] 3 [[2 female symbols]] together under bank of fallen tree & only a small piece stripped1
1 small red & black ich.
Many sawfly larvae on birch & particularly on willow sent to Perkin.
1 [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Halictus calceatus or albipes [[/underlined]] seen on Knapseed flowers & 1 bumble seen flying in distance.

No Ichneumons seen! Ivy just out!
