27th May 1928. Went to Clara, WI, to get more [[underlined]] Arge metallica [[/underlined]], where 1st British specimen was taken by me on 22.5.27, but it rained all day & so nothing doing. Saw one [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Tom. luteiventris [[/underlined]] clinging to a rush & took some parasitized aphids off leaves of Bramble on road above Clara [[insertion]] (hatched 30th & 31st May: = Aphidius avenue Hal.) [[/insertion]] (S. of.) Bridge. 
29th May 1928. A perfect day: hot sun all day long as also saw 28th inst. (With E O'M.)
Returned to Clara, WI, but could not see a trace of [[underlined]] Arge metallica [[/underlined]]! The following seen. 
Many bees on sand-flat but nothing new seen. 
[[underlined]] Andrena fucata [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[female symbol]] seen for first time.
[[underlined]] Dolerus aeneus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]]. [[checkmark]] RCLP. [[underlined]] D. niger [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. 

[[underlined]] Ichneumon filicornis [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 female symbols]] at fallen pine 1/2 mile below sand flat. [[underlined]] [[Xyloneremum?]]  filicornis [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] common at dead bored tree (? Holly bored by [[underlined]] R. tardyi [[/underlined]]) below sand-flat.
[[underlined]] Ephialtes tuberculatus [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] flying over the Vaccinium in wood near Clara Bridge near where left motor at top of last hill. 
[[underlined]] Pimpla instigator [[/underlined]] a very large [[female symbol]] at rotten fallen tree [[strikethrough]] near Castle [[/strikethrough]] below sand flat.

31st May 1928. A fine sunny afternoon, spoiled by very strong [[insertion]] afternoon [[/insertion]] cool N.E. wind! Bohernabreena (Lower Glenasmole) [[insertion]] ^ marshes on [[/insertion]] rt at back of river above Mrs Doyle's & coomb &c. 
Very few Bombus seen & all either [[underlined]] agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] or [[underlined]] jonellus [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] (no [[underlined]] lucorum [[/underlined]] seen at all!).
[[underlined]] Dolerus bimaculatus [[/underlined]] [[checkmark]] RCLP 1 [[female symbol]] in usual marsh below coomb with deformed wings: swept off rushes &c.
