27th May 1928.  Went to Clara, WI, to get more [[underline]] Arge metallica [[/underline]], where 1st British specimen was taken by me on 22/5/27, but it rained all day & so nothing doing.  Saw one [[female symbol]] [[underline]] Tom. luteiventris [[/underline]] clinging to a rush & took some parasitized aphides off leaves of Bramble [[insertion]] (hatched 30th & 31st May: = Aphidius avenae Hal.) [[/insertion]] on road above Clara (S. of.) Bridge.
29th May 1928.  A perfect day: Hot sun all day long as also saw 28th inst. (With E O'M)
Returned to Clara, WI, but could not see a trace of [[underline]] Arge metallica [[/underline]]!  The following seen.  
Many bees on sand-flat but nothing new seen.  
[[underline]] Andrena fucata [[/underline]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[female symbol]] seen for first time.  [[underline]] Doleres aeneus [[/underline]] [[male symbol]] [[checkmark]] RCLP.  [[underline]] D. niger [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[/checkmark]] RCLP.

[[underline]] Ischnocerus filicornis [[/underline]] 2 [[2 female symbols]] at fallen pine 1/2 mile below sand flat.  [[underline]] [[Xylenorum?]] pilicornis [[/underline]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] common at dead bored tree (? Holly bored by [[underline]] R. tardgi [[/underline]]) below sand-flat.  [[underline]] Ephialtes tuberculatus [[/underline]] 1 [[male symbol]] flying over Vaccinum in wood near Clara Bridge near where left motor at top of last hill. [[underline]] Pimpla instigator [[/underline]]. A very large [[female symbol]] at rotten fallen tree [[strikethrough]] near bank [[/strikethrough]] below sand flat.

31st May 1928. afternoon.  A fine sunny afternoon, spoiled by very strong cool N.E. wind!
Bohernabreena (Lower Glenasmole). [[insertion]] ^ marshes on [[/insertion]] rt - bank of river above Mrs Doyle's & coomb &c.
Very few Bombus seen & all either [[underline]] agrorum [[/underline]] [[2 female symbols]] or [[underlined]] jonellus [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] (no [[underlined]] lucorum [[/underlined]] seen at all!).
[[underline]] Dolores bimaculata [[/underline]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. 1 [[female symbol]] in usual marsh below coomb with deformed wings: swept off rushes &c.
[[underline]] D. picipes [[/underline]] 1 [[female symbol]] [[checkmark]] RCLP.  [[underline]] D. haematodes [[/underline]] [[checkmark]] RCLP 2 [[2 male symbols]].  [[underline]] D. nigrates [[/underline]] [[checkmark]] RCLP 1 [[female symbol]].  [[underline]] Pachyprotesis rapae [[//underline]] [[male symbol]] [[checkmark]] RCLP.

Red Admiral quite fresh

Also 3 or 4 Braconids, (one on willows with large impostor) 
Many [[riked?]] Aphides on [[underline]] Rosa "tomentosa" [[/underline]] : from these emerged 3 [[underlined]] Aphidus [[/underlined]] & about a fortnight later many [[underlined]] [[Lygreeras?]] [[/underlined]] ? sp. ?
