9th August 1928. Kilgrainey cave, near Cappagh, WA. Mostly dull & hot, some misty rain. Only collected for a few minutes about midday.

[[underlined]] Exetastes guttatorius [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[checkmark]] on wild carrot.

10th August 1928. A wet day, with driving rain from S & SE. almost all day, but very warm. 
Drove to Formay, EC., where visited Carrickabrick Castle & took [[underlined]] Helicigana lapicida [[/underlined]] (2 on castle walls, in chinks; & one dead in crevice of cliff 200 yards [[strikethrough]] H [[/strikethrough]] East of Castle). Also [[underlined]] Hy. lacida [[/underlined]]. 
Then drove on to [[double underlined]] Castle Lyons [[/double underlined]], where during a fine spell I took or saw in Mrs Bond's garden the following.
[[underlined]] Bombus hortorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] & [[2 male symbols]] common.
[[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]] several [[2 virgin female symbols]]. No other spp. seen.
[[underlined]] Andrena gwynana [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] 2nd brood.
Icks. [[underlined]] Glypta bifoveolata [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]]

[[underlined]] Larius flavus [[/underlined]] winged [[female symbol]].

13th August 1928. A blustery day - westerly gale - with heavy showers & impossible to collect. 
In aft. drove to Ardmore, Whiling Bay, Ferry Point opposite Youghal, Youghal Bridge, Clashmore & home. All Co. WA. 
Took Staphylinid beetle at shore level in Whiling Bay & swept a [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Lissonota bellator [[/underlined]] at [[Moora?]] near Ferry Pt.
Saw a few [[underlined]] Bombus agroroum [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] lucorum [[/underlined]] but nothing else.
