Transcription Notes:
At the top of page 17, line 4 that begins "near [WORD] Point...", I had difficulties transcribing the name of the point. I found this map from 1927 (https://collections.lib.uwm.edu/digital/collection/agdm/id/21682/) with all the points and their names. Unable to determine what was written. It is labelled Pte. Narioa on that map, on south side of bay, just west of Vge de Ahurei. Thanks for finding that map!! It makes it so much easier when other transcribers do a little research to make their work more accurate! Also, Fosberg crossed out Mt. Oranga and wrote Ororangi instead, but the map shows Mt. Oranga, which is close to Mt Tepiahu and to the village.
