Go on and stop five miles below at a small village where we take tea & the formation is hard blue sandstone. Dip SE 60°. Find a pretty mole on the beach. Buy a few [cortops?] eat & put off. Pass another village (see opp) of two houses which are deserted by the inhabitants on our approach. It is very prettyly situated on the spur of a bluff overlooking the river. E side Mts in distance 40 miles. Through a long slough around a bluff of blues sandstone & [ti peet] on a gravel beach. The Indians run away but presently return bringing fish, a little dry meat and fat. These are the Prenorska and the one before this is the second village of that tribe on the river. The houses etc. do not appear to differ from the lower Ingaluts. but the language and their appearance is quite distinct. Push on. for some hours and being pretty tired I lay down and sleep soundly although it is not very comfortable on top of all the goods
