[Ingechuk?] gives me some backfat They want me to stay all night and tell me all sorts of lies about the river, so that they can go up in our bidarra tomorrow to Ulukuk but I know enough of the country + Indian ways to insist on going on. Start about 2.30 P M + camp on a bank about six making a good camp.
[line] Saturday Oct 5. 67 [/line]
Morning. Start about 8 A M + work all day pulling + tracking up stream in a very cold wind. Much new ice in the river. Must make all possible haste back or shall be frozen in. Pass a good locality for fossils but have not time to collect any. Camp a little way this side of Ulukuk. The river is dreadfully winding. We have come nearly 30 miles today, which in the winter from [Iktijalik?] to Ulukuk [parrenose?] is 10 miles
