Work over the windows for my house and get them finished, when the Takitesky Indians Tekunka & others arrive from Koyoukuk where they have been at the [[egrushki?]] 
One of the Nowikakut Indians arrives from above with furs for sale. Evening. Honilno has a fit of a curious kind which has seized several of the people here. 
The patient in the morning has little appetite but nothing unusual otherwise, and in the course of the afternoon suddenly falls in a sort of convulsion. The eyes are half

and they all get a little high
About 5 oclock I go out hearing a noise & find all hands grappling an Indian who has Popoff by the throat 
Plug him in the eye two or three times and he lets go and the Russians take him out into the yard & tie him & give him a terrible beating. All this was accompanied with more roaring and exhibition of cowardice on their part than I would have believed possible. They fire off two guns & finally sent the poor fellow off in a bad plight. It appears that the Indian, Isaac one of the best Indians I know, came drunk into the yard and Ostraskoi also drunk tried to put him out & tore his parki. He then got enraged & came into the house grabbing Popoff who was just going out -
