[line] -3 Thursday. Feb. 13. 68 [line]
Get out trading goods + grub for my trip to the Redoubt. Tie up the sled sharpen the axe etc. Take 50 ukali for dog feed, a keg of fish + a box of dry specimens a leaky can + the usual assortment of things for the road. Evening pack the sled + get every thing ready for an early start tomorrow.
[line] Friday Feb 14 [line]
Start late with a heavy sled + 8 dogs, the fort Youkon sled on top. Walk about five miles of the way on snow shoes + feel very tired. Two months on my back or nearly so, has made me very weak. Sit on the sled the rest of the way. The Russians take some fish from the trap on their way. We are behind as their sleds are light + their dogs first rate. Reach Woolly satux barrabora about 2 P.M. Conclude to divide the load + put the heaviest goods + 3 good dogs in the Ft. Y. sled. The Russians cut down one house to make a fire in the other.
