Give the men who served the guns a drink and go about doing nothing. Drink tea with the Russians &c. Give my gun to Alexie who promises to fix it. Talk with Ananyan and think I can make a trade with him. He brings Kogenikoff the sables he (K) owes [[underline]] me [[\underline]] and K immediately sells them for liquor. Tenisensky writes that he sent liquor &c in the morning. The fact is probably, that Stepanoff drank the two bottles and has been lying abed ever since, too drunk to carry out the programme. In the afternoon go up to Stepanoff who has got up, and take up, all of us together wine & cake - and go through with an infernal amount of hugging & kissing, which from a Russian always reminds me of Judas. Musquitoes fearful in the P.M. Have a hard time to get away from the drunken Russians especially Ivan Pavloff and Ivanoff. I shall thank heaven when I am once more among white men. Don't do any work today.

He gives me eight loaves of bread. He is a rather tiresome fellow, and talks of nothing but his various afflictions. Put the bidarra up to dry, the goods in the tent and under the maklok skin. Will leave probably leave tomorrow night as the day is very hot. Very sorry to find that I can not get an interpreter here.

Get a [[female symbol]] yellow bird, eyes black and a [[male symbol]] spotted thrush eyes brown - and skin 'em. Get a bath - much needed. Grease the bidarra and sharpen the axes. Give Milavanoff some needles, 650 caps or so, some medicines, &c for which
