Bendeleben was married & is now insane again.  Ennis is in a big trading on the Kamchatka side.  Adams is at St Pauls sealing with the Jewish Company.  Dyer has gone home.  Ritchum has made a fool of himself.

Thursday June 18.
Start late.  Stop at several small beaches and find large numbers of goose, duck, gull & snipe eggs.  Kill two terns, and a beautiful diver.  See the Emperor Goose but can't kill it.  Part of the time am in considerable uncertainty as to whether we are in the Uphoon proper, or not;  but about dark, turn up all right, at Ananyans barrabora, Rutleet.  Take all the goods & the bidarra ashore and put up the tent.  Shall stay here a few days.  The place is quite deserted, Ananyan having gone to the Kusibrak to salt down salmon.

Friday June 19
Catalogue & pack away specimens all day, which had been
