Each Laf-like phrase might be transcribed as "Zee zee ta wee ta zee".
Turning cold, wind and cloud coming up, 6:50 a.m.
[[margin, in red]] 36 Cy [[/note]]
7:10. Catch glimpse of [[2 red check marks]] Cy (definite), with one other bird, in tangles and trees region of lusher vegetation 30 – 40 ft up. Uttering some Twitters. I [[underline]] think [[/underline]] the other bird is another Cy. So perhaps Cy is not an obligate commensal after all!
[[margin, in red]] Cy [[/margin]]
7:20. See another single Sooty Thrush alone
[[margin, in red]] 37 [[/margin]]
7:40. See a single individual of one of the flycatcher [[red check mark]] species that was with the big mixed flock yesterday. This individual today is alone.
Sun reaching this area 7:50 a.m. But wind getting stronger and stronger.
8:15 Another burst Laf-like Songs in an area where I also heard them earlier. Land slide edged with fairly high and thick second growth.

Then see mixed flock. Composed of two [[two green check marks]] [[underline]] rufinucha [[/underline]] and 3 [[three green check marks]] Yellow faced Whitestarts.
[[margin, in purple]] IX HO [[/margin]]
Whitestarts flitting about actively in usual way. Ranging 1 – 20 ft above ground. [[underline]] rufinuchas [[/underline]] ranging from ground up to 10 ft. Whitestarts quite silent while I observe them. [[underline]] No Laf-like Songs while group is present. [[/underline]] (This [[underline]] might [[/underline]] suggest that Laf-like songs are [[underline]] not [[/underline]] uttered by Whitestarts.[[underline]]rufinuchas[[/underline]] noisy. Lots of "Seeet" Notes. Also "Tsit"s when near me.
[[underline]]rufinuchas repeatedly [[/underline]] follow the Whitestarts.
If [[underline]]rufinuchas[[/underline]] will follow other species in this particular area, which is so depauperate in both species and individuals, then they must have a definite following response. I.E the behavior of the local [[underline]]rufinuchas is [[/underline]] qualitatively different from that of the birds of the same species near Quito.
