[[margin, in red]]69[[/margin]] lt and 1 [[insertion]]3 red checkmarks[[/insertion]] young [[underlined]]Buthraupis cucullata[[/underlined]]. In trees; region of scattered vegetation. Usually 20-40 ft up. Adults biting into [[underlined]]large[[/underlined]] fruits, taking big chunks out of the fruit. At least once, adult feeds young. All very noisy, PN-type notes, R's, and hoarse Begging Notes by young. Group as a whole [[underlined]]very[[/underlined]], very conspicuous. But certainly, nothing shows any tendency to join them. I suppose this species is so large that it is really intimidating.
Follow group for some time. Still alone 8:40.
[[margin]] [[red]] Cy [[/red]] [[/margin]] Then see single Cy in tall tree. 40 ft up. Singing. Long twitters. Some twitters with 1 or 2 "tut" Intro Notes. Some [[underlined]]definitely[[/underlined]] without. Bird apparently alone. [[margin]] [[red]] 71 [[/red]] [[/margin]] Correction: It is a pair of Cys [[red]] 2 checkmarks [[/red]] alone. (Are songs without Intro Notes particularly likely to be given as "Greetings", while songs with Intro Notes are more apt to be given by isolated individuals? I [[underlined]]rather[[/underlined]] think so.)
[[margin, in red]]72[[/margin]] Then see single Yellow-belly [[insertion]]red checkmark[[/insertion]] in bamboo scrub 30-50 ft from Cys.
[[margin, in green]]109[[/margin]]8:55. Catch brief glimpse of [[underlined]]Hemispingus superciliaris[[/underlined]] [[insertion]]2 checkmarks[[/insertion]] - types [[margin, in purple]]XVI HO[[/margin]] (LXXXVIII). In Bamboo scrub. Definitely accompanied by Ruddy Flycatcher [[insertion]]green checkmark[[/insertion]] (LXXXVII).
[[margin, in red]]74[[/margin]] 9:17. See pair Yellow-bellies [[insertion]]2 red checkmarks[[/insertion]]. Apparently alone. High up tall tree, 50-60 ft above ground.
Incidentally, it has been clear and sunny all morning.
[[margin, in green]]111[[/margin]] 9:20. Come across mixed flock. Includes 1 pair [[underlined]]Hemispingus[[/underlined]]. Definitely same birds seen earlier, 8:55. But now I get a much better view of them. They definitely are not [[underlined]]superciliosus[[/underlined]]. And they definitely [[underlined]]are atropileus[[/underlined]]. Moving up and down tangles on trunk large tree, and in bamboo thickets, 5-20 ft above ground. Very noisy, uttering a great variety of sounds. Still associated with Ruddy Flycatcher. In fact, now I see there are 2 [[insertion]]2 checkmarks[[/insertion]] [[margin, in green]]113[[/margin]] Ruddy Flycatchers here. Ruddy Flycatchers repeatedly f ----> [[underlined]]atro[[/underlined]]
