I am quite certain that this [[underline]] [[image - male symbol]] Albi is the same as the "[[Glanc?]]" [[/underline]] I saw last week. Upper parts are sort of sooty, flanks definitely grayish. Can look quite blue in right light. Bird feeds in tree for some minutes. Uttering lots of R's without intro note from time to time. Then moves downstream.

[[margin]] Albi 26 [[/margin]] Approximately 1 minute later, a [[image - female symbol]] Albi appears. Feeds in same tree and bush in same way. Quite silent, except for occasional "Tsit" Note.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] This confirms what I thought before. Mated [[image - male symbol]] and [[image - female symbol]] Albis share the same territories; but they do [[underline]] not [[/underline]] go around close together. (This sort of arrangement may be common in [[underline]] carbonaria s. l. [[/underline]] and [[underline]] lafresnayei s. l. [[/underline]] also.)

[[margin]] Scan Albi [[/margin]] The [[image - female symbol]] feeds in the tree for at least 5 minutes, probably more. Then, suddenly, a Scans appears in a tree approximately 10 ft away. And the [[image - female symbol]] Albi just [[underline]] vanishes [[/underline]]. I don't see her leave; but she certainly must have gone. A few seconds later, I see a Scan (probably same individual) feeding in tree with purple flowers, just where [[image - female symbol]] Albi was earlier. Then I lose sight of the Scan. Only a few seconds later, [[underline]] see [[image - male symbol]] Albi feeding same place [[/underline]]! Then I see sudden chase. Scan certainly involved, but I can't identify other bird. But the [[image - male symbol]] Albi disappears at same time. So I think the Scan must have been the pursuer and the [image - male symbol]] Albi the pursued. In any case, none of the birds returns during the next few minutes.

The incidents observed this afternoon are significant for several reasons:

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] I. It is nice to have the "[[Glanc?]]" problem solved.
II. It was my impression, earlier, that the Albis probably were largely insectivorous here. Probably they are. But they certainly will
