Group includes some [[underline]]Basileuterus[[/underline]] and/or [[underline]] Hemispingus [[/underline]] types, 2 Yellowfaces, some woodcreepers, probably others: All ranging 2-10 ft above ground.
GENERAL COMMENT: All in all, the birds of this part of the Andes seem very similar to those of Munchique. I.E. the whole of the southern part of the Western Cordillera may be essentially "uniform" (at similar altitudes). This is nice to know. It means that I probably am safe in "extrapolating" from observations in one area to conditions throughout whole regions.
1:00pm. Korea Station. Cloudy but no rain or fog. See single Ruddy Flycatcher 4 ft up in scrub. Silent and definitely alone.
Then fog comes in! Really [[underline]]very[[/underline]] difficult to work today.
Going to see if anything can be done this afternoon.
2:15pm. Upper edge Korea pastures. Just where path into forest begins. Just below fog level now. See large mixed flock. When first seen, group

[[margin]] Cy 150 [[/margin]], 1 Cy ^[[check over the 1 and a 5 over the bird name]], 1 Slatey-blue Finch ^[[(check over 1 and a 6 over the bird name)]] with thin bill ("Amaurospiza" type), and
[[margin]] 151 [[/margin]] 1 [[underline]] Compsocoma [[/underline]] ^[[(a check over the 1 and a 7 over the bird name)]]. Group noisy but no Songs. All in scrub and small trees. Yellowfaces usually 10-25 ft up. Slate-throats 5-15 ft up. I.E. these 2 species are stratified here in the same way as in flock seen yesterday (altho the individuals involved [[underline]]certainly[[/underline]] are different). Synallaxis 2-6 ft up. Basileuterus about same level. Cy 4 - 10 ft up. [[underline]] Compsocoma [[/underline]] and Amaurospiza-type 10-25 ft up ([[underline]]not[[/underline]] together). Group is quite coherent, insofar as all the birds are quite close together; but it isn't making much progress in
