[[underlined]] al members of the organized flock [[/underlined]], fourth, one [[underline]] rufinucha [[/underline]] ^[[checkmark ,in green, followed by 6 , in purple]], and fifth and last, 1 Yellow-belly. Cyanocephala stays high, 20-30 ft above

[[margin, in red]] Cy [[/margin]] ground. Slate-throats probably similar. Cy seen only low, 5 – 8 ft up. [[underline]] rufinucha [[/underline]] and Yellow-belly ranging 4 – 30 ft up. Slate-throats sing while the flock. NODWA. All other birds quiet.
3:00 p.m. a little further along path, see 2 squirrels. Together, but not associated with birds. In trees in pasture. Fairly small. Dull brownish above. Rufous below. Some rufescence on tail. (NOTE: I also saw one squirrel, possibly same species, alone this morning.
Then see single Sooty Thrush alone. Also in trees in pasture.
3:10 p.m. another patch of woods. 8190 ft. Near what sounds

[[margin, in purple]] II HO [[/margin]] like another mixed flocks. Lots of "CN"s. All I can see is one

[[margin, in green]] 13 [[/margin]] Sooty Thrush ^[[checkmark ,in green]] (15 – 20 ft up), 1 Yellow-belly ^[[checkmark ,in green, followed by 2 , in purple]] (4 ft up), and 2 ^[[2 checkmarks,in green, followed by 3 , in purple]] [[underline]] Tangara xanthocephala [[/underline]] (ranging 6 – 20 ft up). I can't tell if they really are reacting to one another or not.
The 2 [[underline]] xanthocephalas [[/underline]] fly off into distant trees. Go from tree to tree, 20 – 30 ft up. [[underline]] Apparently [[/underline]], Neither Yellow-belly

[[margin, in green]] 14 [[/margin]] nor thrush follow. But at least 1 ^[[checkmark ,in green, followed by 4 , in purple]] [[underline]] cyanocephala [[/underline]] appears. [[underline]] cyanocephala [[/underline]] f [[image: right arrow]] [[underline]] xanthocephala [[/underline]] at least twice. Moving through same levels of trees.
There are single [[underline]] C. ^[[checkmark ,in green followed by 5 ,in purple]] flavinucha [[/underline]] 20 ft up in tree. Right where [[underline]] xanthocephala [[/underline]] used to be! Apparently no other birds close by, now, but this [[underline]] flavinucha [[/underline]] might [[underline]] well [[/underline]] be an outlier of the flock.
3:30 p.m. Come to patch of mature looking forest. Just below Ranchito itself. 8200 ft. See single squirrel (usual species) in same trees as Aconis and hummingbirds. Can't tell if birds and mammal are
