reacting to one another or not.
Go on way past Ranchito. Along trail thru forest. Reach 8500 ft 4:00 pm. Bottom of fog level. Can hear lots of birds in tree-tops on way thru forest; but can't see them.
        Starting down hill 4:15 p.m.

[[margin, in green]] 16 [[/margin]] 4:25 p.m. 8450 ft. See single Big ^[[checkmark ,in green, followed by 1 ,in purple]] Buthraupis, silent and alone,

[[margin, in purple]] III HO [[/margin]] 40 ft up tall tree edge clearing. Flies away immediately. Back in direction from which it came. Then I hear quite a lot of miscellaneous

[[margin, in green]] 17 [[/margin]] bird sounds that area. Then single [[male symbol]] ^[[checkmark ,in green, followed by 2 ,in purple]] Western Tanager flies into same tree Buthraupis visited earlier. Also 40 ft up. Noisy. Flies on. Opposite the direction taken by Buthraupis! Then I hear quite a lot more bird sounds same general area. Catch brief glimpses dark forms moving in treetops. Then yet somewhat better view. This is "really [[underscore]] quite [[/underscore]] a

[[margin, in green]] 30 [[/margin]] large flock. [[underscore]] At least [[/underscore]] ^[[13 checkmarks]] 15 individuals. Besides Western and Big Buthraupis, group includes at least 2 [[underscore]] Cnemoscopus [[/underscore]] ^[[3 ,in purple]], 1 GT^[[4 ,in purple]], 1 yellowish^[[5 ,in purple]] flycatcher, 1 Yellow faced Whitestart^[[6 ,in purple]]. All quite noisy; lots of "CN"s. Yellowface ranges 12-20 ft above ground. The rest of the birds range 20 – 40 ft up. Yellowface and GT bringing up the rear guard. From the general direction in which group is going, I would [[underscore]] deduce [[/underscore]] that Big Buthraupis probably is in lead.
Fog is coming down to this level now - 4:43 p.m.
Flock disappears (down hill?)quite rapidly. Quite coherent!!
        Going on down myself.
5:01 p.m. Below Ranchito. Patch of forest where [[underscore]] xanthocephala [[/underscore]]
