in the Andes!!!
Fog gone again ca. 8:45 am.
Going back up road. Everything [[underlined]]very[[/underlined]] quiet 9:10 am.
9:28. Upper edge "upper subtropical" forest. See another mixed [[77 in green in left margin]] flock trees and scrub along road. Includes at least [[two checkmarks in green and 1 in purple above]]2 [[underlined]]Cnemoscopus[[/underlined]],[[Sitti in red and 84 in green in left margin]][[one checkmark in green and 2 in purple above]]1 Blue & Orange, [[two checkmarks in green and 3 in purple above]]2 Sittis, [[one checkmark in green above]]1 [[male symbol]][[4 in purple above]] and [[one checkmark in green above]]1 [[female symbol]] WCC, [[one checkmark in green and 5 in purple above]]1 [[underlined]]cyanocephala[[/underlined]], [[6 in purple and one checkmark in green above]]2 woodpecker [[WCC in red and 86 in green in left margin]] (red cap, golden back - same species as yesterday), [[two checkmarks in green and 7 in purple above]]2 Whitebearded [[V HO in purple in left margin]] Flycatchers. Can't see who is leading. Possibly Sittis part of the time. Sittis and WCC's ranging 6-30 ft up. Picking insects off leaves. Blue & Orange ranging same elevations; but I can't see what they are feeding on. [[underlined]]Cnemoscopus[[/underlined]] stay high ni trees, 30-40 ft up. Picking insects off leaves. Flycatchers and woodpecker probably ranging 20-30 ft up. Group as a whole coherent. Only moderately noisy.
There was at least one fight among the [[underlined]]Cnemoscopus[[/underlined]].
[[Sitti and WCC in red in left margin]] The Sittis and WCC's tended to with one another particularly closely. [[underlined]]I think that I can say that this is "usual" now. And the WCC's certainly followed the Sittis repeatedly.[[/underlined]]
NOTE: It seems very likely that some of the birds in this flock, like some of the ones in the "[[underlined]]Atlapetes[[/underlined]] flock" seen earlier this morning, were members of the very large mixed flock seen yesterday. I.E. the "composition" of the flocks here is fluid. And individual birds [[underlined]]may[[/underlined]] have some "choice" as to which flock(s) to join every morning
10:01. Somewhat farther up road. See single Sooty Thrush alone. Flying across road.
Leaving 10:20 am. Everything dead!
NOTE: I don't think that the above comment on [[underlined]]Atlapetes brunnei-nucha[[/underlined]] is very bright. For several reasons! In the
