[[left margin in green]] 59 [[/left margin]] Blue & Orange. First came a group of 5 birds. [[3 green checkmarks]] [[purple]] 3 [[/purple]] 3 all rufous Synallaxis (quite [[left margin in green]] 61 [[/left margin]] probably same species seen in Eastern Cordillera). [[2 green checkmarks]] [[purple]] 4 [[/purple]] 2 large olive, yellow, blue and black finches or tanagers (no. LXXXIX). All within a few inches of one another. 5 ft above ground. The LXXXIX were silent. The Synallaxis [[left margin in green]] 62 63 [[/left margin]] uttered "CN" type notes. Following these 5 birds were a pair of [[2 green checkmarks]] [[purple]] 5 [[/purple]] PR Atlapetes. When they first appeared they were 5 - 10 ft behind the Synallaxis - LXXXIX group. About same height above ground. The PR's come and "mob" me. Uttering lots of miscellaeous notes. Also some loud "Twitters" as "Greetings". Then all the birds move off. Apparently in [[underlined]] exactly [[/underlined]] the same order as they arrived. Going up hill into forest.

Just before I became aware of the Blue & Orange and Firebelly, I saw [[left margin in green]] 64 [[/left margin]] a single [[green]] 64 [[/green]] [[purple]] 6 [[/purple]] Yellow-faced Whitestart 20 ft up in tree, about 50 ft away from the tanagers. Silent. As far as I know, this bird did [[underlined]] not [[underlined]] join the group.

This flock was seen ca. 8:15 am. Rain almost stopped. But sun gone behind clouds again.

Everything very quiet now 8:45. Going downhill again.

ADDITION. Just as the Synallaxis - LXXXIX group appeared, [[left margin in red]] Laf [[/left margin]] [[left margin in green]] 65 [[/left margin]] a single Laf [[green checkmark]] joined flock. In scrub. 6ft up. Quite silent. Stayed with the group for less than a minute. The Lafs here certainly do "escort" flocks as (relatively) frequently as any non-commensal Diglossini anywhere.

[[left margin in red]] 49 [[/left margin]] 9:00 am. See pair [[2 red checkmarks]] Blue & Orange tanagers (possibly same pair seen earlier) feeding in small trees, 6 - 15 ft up, in dense mature scrub. Silent. Apparently alone. (There is a single Oectheca in tree about 20 ft away from the tanagers for a minute or so. But the 2 species do not seem to be paying any attention to one another.)

9:15 See single Sooty Thrush, silent and alone, in low scrub by
