with See single [[underline]] cyanocephala [[/underline]] fly by alone. Probably same individual seen earlier. Uttering "CN"s and "PN"s. Then see same bird again a few minutes later. Still alone.

Again see [[underline]] cyanocephala [[/underline]] along 10:26.
  Leaving 10:30 am
COMMENT: There is no doubt that there are fewer mixed flocks in the area where I worked first today, i.e. the high altitude area with obviously second growth vegetation, than in the other area where I worked on previous days, i.e. the high altitude area which has more or less "natural" and "mature" looking "alpine scrub." I would like to believe that this difference is due to the fact that the vegetation of the former area if more "open" than that of the latter.
Arrive place near Popayán itself, on road to Purace, 3:37 pm. Patch of forest. Doesn't look very natural No! Won't do.
Arrive another area 4:00 pm. Edge of same big river visited yesterday. It is the Cauca! But this area is approximately 1 mile from area visit yesterday. Includes a variety of second growth vegetation, including trees, both along river and along ridges. 5925 ft 1760 m.
It is sunny and hot now.

About same size; bill fairly long; slightly decurved (downward); purple chin; throat, and whole center breast and belly; head and sides breast & belly green. Another species [[underline]] Colibri [[/underline]] ??? Actually, there are a number of [[underline]] different [[/underline]] species of hummingbirds feeding in the Guavas by river here.
