The Miocene rocks appear all around the edges of Wahlamet valley except where they dip into deep valleys & are obscured by alluvial or where they are covered by basalt. They overlie the Eocene at Coos Bay where they form the landward slope the sea ward slope being formed by the edges of the Eocene
