Bight W of Cape Douglas Cooks Inlet July 21, 1895.
This bight has anchorage in 2-5 fms. secure against wind & sea except from N. & NE. The cape is low with rocks about it and the E and S. parts of the bay appear to be foul. The west shore is bold and should be kept aboard in entering.
The East peninsula is composed of andesitic flows mostly horizontal and more of less inter stratified with ash beds containing carbonaceous matter and remains of plants.
