of the anchoring place whence by the azimuth compass Pt. Campbell bears West 40°N, the edge of Pt Possession W. by N. N.80°W, the SW edge of Fire Id NW by W N.60°W and the small rocky point East a cable and a half by compass.
Pt. Possession is long, low, wooded with small bluffs at the shore.  Pt Campbell is similar.
At the bottom of the bight east of Pt. Possession (which is shoal the land rises to 2000 ft mountains (and also the opposite shore) both are rocky and come down to the water in rocky bluffs with no beaches at high water.  Off the high land on the south shore is a small domeshaped low island around which the [[strikethrough]] bluffs [[/strikethrough]] flats dry at low water.  It is called Haystack by the miners.  At the Anchorage the following readings were taken of the ebb by patent log from the vessel
