Supt. M. B. Curtis. [[insertion]] F. H. Curtiss [[/insertion]]  Eastland caƱon. 270 ft above tide, 2 ft 4 in clear coal remainder alternate seams of coal & clay or "bone" total 6 ft. 3 tunnels total length about 400 ft.  300 tons set to S.F. 1895 and another cargo to be sent later in the season.
23 3/8 oz Specimen (218) main vein in place with bag weighs 13 oz avoirdupois
Specimen (219) main vein dump with bag 13 3/4 oz - (25 7/8 oz)
Specimen (220) main vein on place with bag 13 1/4 oz. (24 1/4 oz)
Strata of Sandstone, whitish clay containing large water worn boulders, shales and lignite, the upper part covered by some 5-10 ft of reddish gravel, bluffs 600-800 ft land rising behind 1800 ft.
